Do You Want Happiness ?

This simple question will always be answered with a big “Yes”. happy-face.gif Happy face image by thekronman
Yes , all of us without exception , want to have happiness, although the idea of what constitute happiness and how it can be obtained differs from person to person.Every one of us wants happiness, and not only in each moment of our daily life : we want an unchanging, ultimate happiness that can be experienced forever.

Every one of us is trying to stop our problems and find peace. No matter where we live, what race or culture we belong to, what religion or philosophy we follow, or what language we speak, we all wish to be happy and not have problems. Truly every living being has the basic wish to experience happiness and avoid suffering.

But so often, our attempts to find happiness end up only causing more pain. We need to understand the full potential of our mind, and we need to understand the importance of loving-kindness for our own happiness and for the happiness of the world. We need to learn how to transform every single experience - health and sickness , wealth and poverty, living and dying - into happiness.

Did you ever watch a child create a castle in the sand and see it happily express its satisfaction when its work had been completed ?

All of us that seek true happiness in life can learn a lesson from this child. For here you see a human being that has found its happiness , and if you will not seek to find your own, the same way as that child , you shall forever hunger after happiness in vain.

All happiness this mortal life affords- is joy experienced through creative effort. Be it that a person will create the timeless realm of love within his soul; be it that his creativity express itself within the province of the mind; or that material things provide his will the means creatively to manifest its power.

The joy experienced in creative work alone is real happiness, and all things else you regards as such will surely, if you trust them, betray and rob you of true happiness, as much as one can find it in this life.

So the pursuit of happiness is the root motivation of all human life. Beneath our so-called wants and desires for love, comfort, wealth, power, fame, etc., lies the unchanging quality of happiness - that all of us, without exception, seek - some consciously and most unconsciously . However, it is imperative to recognize that there is no one absolute way to arrive at happiness - no one path, no one science, no eternal unchangeable laws.

Happiness is essentially a product of a certain inner consciousness, which perceives everything in the externally manifested world. It is not what happens to us in life that determines our happiness so much as the way we react to what happens.

And to this Abraham Lincoln once said, “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
